Understand about Outdoor Furniture Materials

There are different things about outdoor furniture materials. This can be divided into Frame, Outer Surface & Protection, and cushion

Frame

Outdoor furniture frame can be made of steel, wood and aluminium. 

• Steel: very strong and durable, needs Powder Coating to resist rust
• Wood: requires consistent maintenance to protect fading and spliting (if I rank quality of wood, it could be that good wood is pine, better is Acacia, Cedar & Redwood, the best is Teak)
• Aluminium: very strong, light weight, very durable and require little maintenance, it is also rust but invisible

All of An Thien Phu outdoor furnitures which use steel and aluminium frame have experienced different paint layers then powder coating to resist chipping and rust. This makes sure no rust for years ( 5-10 years)

Outer Surface & Protection

• Mosaic: Colorful, marble, must be sealed
• Wicker: 2 types including natural (cane, rattan) and resin wicker 
  • Natural wicker is not durable to weather
  • Resin wicker is synthetic wicker, more durable, little maintenance, and environment friendly, can be recycle.

Cushion

For cushion, fabric is the most concern. 

To rank kinds of fabric, the best is acrylic, better is olefin and good one is polyester

Almost of cushion fabrics are polyester due to good quality and afforable price. The best polyester should be 100% with 230g/m2. Cushion is filled by foam should have D20 Kg/m3 to be good quality and durable.
